How close can we get? We can certainly get very, very close. This image was done for Mario Dube, DOM, AP. In this particular case I used my Nikon 105 mm Macro Lens to capture the insertion of the needles on a patient’s ear during a treatment.

This particular image was taken for Mario Dube, DOM, AP to update his website. It was important to show the doctor using this laser device on the patient. I used my Nikon 105 mm Macro lens and blue Rosco gel on my Norman lights. With the proper angle I was able to capture the red light emanating from the laser as well.

Happy Wednesday,

Yesterday morning I went to the Celery Fields to meet a friend for a walk. Arrived earlier and while waiting it started to rain for about 15 minutes. Then the rain stopped, and as the sun was starting to come up, the colors of the #clouds were just bursting with various of yellows, oranges, light blues, and deep dark grey and black tones. It was amazing!

I was very excited, because my friend brought her dog, and there is one sweet spot that I thought would be great to do a photo of her and her dog.

The advantage of being a photographer is that we are always looking for good locations no matter where we are. The Celery Fields offers just that and it is a wonderful place to walk, run, bike, and clearly walk your dog. Mother Nature brought the most stunning sunrise yet again. So happy to share this with you.

Brought my old trusty Nikon with a Nikon 28mm - 70mm F2.8 lens and my polarizer which always brings details on the clouds.

Though I am a commercial photographer, I can photograph you and your #pet in a beautiful and meaningful location. A treasure for a lifetime.

Happy National Camera Day! Today we celebrate the camera, and photographs.
As a photographer it means the world to me. Recording so many facets of our lives, and for those that are gone we can look at those memories that were once captured with a camera. This is why I love my job, I help people with their portraits for their business, and so many other services that I offer.
Thank you George Eastman, “The Father of Photography,” as he is the one that brought the camera to the masses. Of course he did not invent the camera, but he created many improvements along the way.
This is a Kodak No.1A Pocket 6.5x11 cm camera, it was made somewhere along the 1920’s. This lovely art piece is from my very own small personal collection of cameras.

As we move forward to perhaps opening our business

Often times I don’t get to play in the sunset ho

Often times I don’t get to play in the sunset hours as much as I wish. Tonight or last night, I did have the opportunity up in Longboat Key.
I brought my Nikon body with that Lovely Nikon 200-500, AKA Big Bertha lens, and I just had some serious fun.
Imported to my Lightroom, and sharpened in Photoshop. Very little work required to be honest.
I took many shots, but I picked only one to share with you because I didn’t want to bore with so many.

I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed taking it.

This is a portrait of Johnathan Lee Iverson, during the grand opening of The Circus Museum Tibbals Learning Center at the Ringling Museum, back in January 2006. I used my Nikon flash off the camera and dragged the shutter to show the background.
If you ever had the pleasure of seeing Johnathan you would understand why he chose this profession, he was amazing. His articulate voice reached every corner.
He was a Ringling Brothers ringmaster for 20 years, and he was the first African American and the youngest in history.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there!!! I have to say that I #love this photo of Ms. Betty as she gets to visit with her daughter Marie. Because of the coronavirus it has been very difficult to see each other, and recently Marie was able to make arrangements to be able to visit through this window.
The staff at Heartland Health Care & Rehabilitation Center-Sarasota is very kind and sweet and often times update Marie on how Betty is doing.
It was a challenge, but shooting through a window won’t hold me back. Brought one of my portable lights and shot with my Nikon 70-200mm F2.8.
Since I was not allowed to go inside and capture the visit with Marie, I selected this image of Betty out of several. She looks happy as this is the first time to see each other in a while.

Katie Troyer lives in the Pinecraft Community here

Katie Troyer lives in the Pinecraft Community here in Sarasota. She is also a photographer and has published a calendar with very wonderful and personal images of the Amish and Mennonite people in her community. You can buy at the Der Dutchman Restaurant.

I wanted to capture what was happening in her community and I reached out to her if she wanted to come and do photography with me. So, we meet this past Saturday and hang out together for a little bit.
Her perspective is wonderful and she has a terrific sense of humor.

Here is a shot from one of the new buildings downtown. I saw this view once before, but normally if you tried to do this shot on a Saturday morning, you would see the hustle and bustle of our Sarasota Farmers Market. Sadly they are closed until further notice.
I waited for the right moment of this gentleman walking by. He was very nice and I showed him the shot and he really liked it.

She teaches various techniques here locally and various other locations.
In addition, she has been published in “500 Handmade Dolls” Beadwork Magazine and several other publications.
